These four stories have happened in the last two days. I don't want to forget them, so I'm recording them in the blogosphere.
#1
Joel sits down with his stuffed animals while I clean the kitchen. Buddy the Puppy says to Sprocket, "I'm sad, Daddy."
"What's a matter?" asks Sprocket, the dog.
"I had a nightmare, Daddy," responds Buddy the Puppy.
"Let me hold you," answers Sprocket, the dog.
"Thank you, Daddy. You always make it better," explains Buddy the Puppy.
#2
We're at the grocery store and the intercom turns on. "Daddy, what's the principal saying?" Joel asks me. I'm not sure where he got that, because he's only been to my school on the weekends.
#3
Joel is trying to make up new words. So, he says, "Pop corn, top torn, sop sorn, cop porn." I'm a little worried about what will happen if he says, "cop porn" at church.
#4
Joel threw a temper tantrum today when he had to take a nap. When he woke up wanted me to hold him. Then he explained, "Thank you for letting me be mad at you. I'm not mad at you anymore. I'm glad you didn't yell at me when I yelled at you." Later he explains, "I love you, so that's why I don't want to be mad at you."
